Despite
being arguably one of the fastest drivers in the field,
the best Steve Lines could manage in the feature race
on Saturday night at Blue Ribbon Raceway in Horsham
Victoria during the latest round of the Eureka Garages
& Sheds Super Sprint Series was third place.
Lines
started from the outside of the front row for the feature
race and actually grabbed the initial lead only to have
a re-run, due to a spun car, and he then fell back to
as a low as fourth during the opening 10 laps of 30.
Fourth place wasn’t where Lines stayed for too long
as he worked his way back into third place shortly after,
and he then charged his way forward, but at the fall
of the chequered flag it was a case of, too little,
too late, and he stayed in third place.
“We
were good towards the end of the feature race, as the
cars setup had really came on, but we could only manage
a third place finish, as we left our run too late,”
Lines commented.

“The
annoying thing during the feature race was the amount
of the stoppages, and it wrecked any chance of building
up momentum and moving further forward.”
Leading
into the feature race Lines had finished second in the
dash and in his two heat races scored a win and a fourth
place.
This
Saturday night (January 19) Lines will compete for the
South Australian State Title at Speedway City in Adelaide,
and he is no doubt going into the event as a pre race
favourite.
“I
cannot wait for the South Australian State Title, and
like many of my rivals, I’m going there to attempt to
take home victory,” concluded the # 45 SA J&J driver.

the 2007/08 season Lines is proudly supported by the
