23-6-2008

Australian Steve Lines has commenced his racing over the weekend in America where he finished third and eighth respectively in his first two feature races in the American Sprintcar Series Rebel Region for 360s.

On Friday night (June 20) at Oglethorpe Speedway Park, Savannah, GA, Lines made his debut aboard the JSM Enterprises, Jeff McCall owned, J&J and finished the 25-lap feature race in third place on the podium of the American Sprintcar Series Rebel Region round. Earlier in the night Lines had finished his heat race (8 laps) in fifth place.

The following night (June 21) Lines trekked over to Swainsboro Raceway, Swainsboro GA, for the next round of the American Sprintcar Series and on this occasion he finished the feature race in eighth place and it was done without the use of brakes after he had started from the middle of the field.

Throughout the night at Swainsboro Raceway Lines battled brake issues and had to run the entire 25 lap feature race without them. Lines’ problems with brakes occurred during his heat race (8 laps) where he finished fourth.

Stayed tuned for more details in regards to Lines’ next event, which is likely to be the next round of the American Sprintcar Series Rebel Region on Tuesday night (June 24) at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD.
