The
2007/08 season Easter Sprintcar Trail started with a
podium result during the opening round for Steve Lines,
but the remaining two rounds didn’t quite go according
to plan for the current South Australian State Title
holder.
After
placing second in the opening round at Avalon Raceway,
Lines’ luck fell to the wayside as he was sidelined
during the second round at his home track of Borderline
Speedway in Mt. Gambier when he was caught up in some
else’s crash during the feature race, and during the
third and final round at Premier Speedway he was haunted
by a poor qualifying run and finished the feature race
back in eighth place.
“Our
weekend started strongly, and from there our luck just
wasn’t there, as we struggled due to being in the wrong
place at the wrong time and a poor qualifying result,”
said Lines.
“I
was hoping to continue my form from the opening night
at my home track the following night but there was a
collision up ahead of me during the opening lap of the
feature race and I couldn’t avoid and sustained race
ending damage.

“The
final night saw me struggle in qualifying (18th) and
that resulted in me starting further down the feature
race (14th) order than I would have liked and during
the race I didn’t get the breaks in order for me to
progress further up the field.”
Lines,
piloting his # 45 Camden Neon Signs supported J&J,
will next be in action this Saturday night (March 29)
at Heartland Raceway (Moama, NSW) for the final round
of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series.
In
the 2007/08 season Lines is proudly supported by the
following organisations: Holla-Fresh, Ad Trans, Maxwill
Race Engines, Camden Neon Signs, BR Motorsports, Torque
Power, Cascade Cleaning Solutions, KTM Australia, and
Spy Eyewear & Clothing.
